As the needle rises, the latch opens, thereby grabbing the yarn. As the needle descends, the latch closes, securing the yarn and forming the loop. This continuous up-and-down movement, coordinated in a circular motion around the needle cylinder, creates the fabric of the sock. The number of needles will vary depending on the model and the desired sock size and texture.

Knitting cycle start

Load the appropriate yarn into the yarn feeder, and the operator sets the needle type (mainly flat needle), sock length, yarn tension and other parameters before starting the machine. The rotation of the drum drives the knitting needle up and down. When it rises, the needle tongue opens to hook the yarn, and when it descends, the needle tongue closes to form a coil, and the coils are interlocked one by one to form the sock body fabric.

Sock extension: Adjust the length of the sock according to needs, from short to long below the knee.
Heel forming: When approaching the heel, the knitting needle retracts and releases the needle to form an arc-shaped comfortable heel structure.
